Do theses numbers surprise you? Good, they should, you see they are the sad facts of what our young people are going through every single day. It’s a battle that more and more of our kids are losing.
Today’s youth are bombarded with negative images, from TV to music videos, & even video games are portrayed in ultra realistic hi-def resolution, showering our kids with all kinds of junk. Don’t get me wrong, I love today’s technology, and not everything on the tube or in games is bad, but let’s be real, most of what’s being fed to them, we would rather they did without. Imagine being on a volleyball team where you’re the only player on your team, meanwhile the other team is just constantly spiking the ball at you! This is what it’s like for our youth every day. Things are coming at them from all angles, and unfortunately, we are sometimes too busy to notice, or even concern ourselves, until there is a “circumstance.” What if we were more involved in their lives, I don’t mean just bringing them to every practice or being present at every game, but really being PRESENT, & more importantly insuring that God is PRESENT in their lives? Including God really does work, I am living proof of a “circumstance” turned around through Jesus. Are our youth surrounded by solid “team” members? 2Timothy 2:22 says:”Run away from the evil things that young people long for, try hard to do what is right, have faith, love and peace, do these things together with those who call on The Lord from a pure heart” With God as our captain, we become the missing members of THIER volleyball team, & we can better equip them, to be victorious in life, with Christ the ultimate victor!
